Overview

The Martin D-13E Retro Acoustic Electric w/Softshell Case brings upgraded Road Series tone, classic Martin styling and practical stage-ready electronics together in a versatile dreadnought. Its solid spruce top and solid black walnut back and sides deliver rich sustain, strong bass response and clear, balanced acoustic tone. With scalloped X-bracing, a Performing Artist neck profile, High-Performance Taper and Martin E1 electronics with a built-in tuner, this guitar is built for players who need dependable sound, comfortable playability and easy amplified performance.

Features

The D-14 fret dreadnought body gives this model the projection and authority players expect from a Martin dreadnought. A solid spruce top provides clarity, dynamic range and strong note definition, while solid black walnut back and sides add warmth, complexity and a rich supporting voice that works well for strumming, flatpicking and singer-songwriter performance.

The scalloped X-bracing helps the top respond with power and sensitivity, giving the guitar a bold but balanced voice. Style 28-inspired appointments, multi-stripe top inlay, white binding, faux tortoise pickguard and a script headstock logo give the D-13E Retro a traditional Martin visual character without making the instrument feel overly ornate.

The Performing Artist neck profile with High-Performance Taper is designed for smooth, modern playability, while the ebony fretboard, 1 3/4 inch nut width and 25.4 inch scale length provide a comfortable and familiar feel. E1 electronics make it easy to plug in for live performance, recording or rehearsal, and the included softshell case adds practical protection for transport and storage.
