Der Yaris GR von Toyota ist eines unserer Lieblingsautos der letzten Jahre- lange gab es kein Fahrzeug mehr, welches so einen Fahrspaß für vergleichsweise so wenig Geld bereitet. Auch wenn wir uns eigentlich auf BMW spezialisiert haben, mussten wir beim Yaris einfach zugreifen und schauen, wie wir den eh schon sehr gelungenen Rallye Ableger noch etwas besser machen können!

Selbst Toyota hat gemerkt, dass die originale Unterbodenabdeckung Potenzial hat eine Belüftung einzuarbeiten, welche der Kühlung des vorderen Antriebsstrangs dient.

So war bis vor kurzem die originale Unterbodenabdeckung mit einer Belüftung beim Toyota Händler erhältlich (leider für sehr viel Geld). Aus einem uns nicht bekannten Grund ist dies mittlerweile nicht mehr der Fall- die Abdeckung wurde scheinbar ersatzlos gestrichen und ist (zumindest in Deutschland) nicht mehr erhältlich bzw. wenn nur als Restartikel zu absoluten Wucherpreisen.

Dazu kommt die Problematik des Materials der originalen Unterbodenabdeckung- diese besteht aus Filz und ist nicht wirklich stabil- so hat sich gezeigt, dass diese bei tiefergelegten und oder auf der Rennstrecke eingesetzten Fahrzeugen häufig zu flattern beginnt und dadurch zum Teil Kontakt mit der Straße macht bzw. Curbs beim Überfahren dieser berührt. Es ist demnach in solchen Fällen nur eine Frage der Zeit bis die originale Abdeckung durchgeschliffen ist und ersetzt werden muss.
Die Kombination aus der extrem schwierigen Verfügbarkeit der originalen, belüfteten Unterbodenabdeckung und der Problematik des Filz Materials hat unseren Partner Polybauer Automotive GmbH dazu bewegt, ein eigenes Bauteil zu entwickeln.

Das Ergebnis könnt ihr hier erwerben:
eine aus GFK gefertigte Abdeckung, welche die originale, "labbrige" Filzabdeckung ersetzt und gleichzeitig mit einem Belüftungskanal für das Getriebe/Diff versehen ist! Durch die Werkstoffwahl wird das Durchbiegen konsequent unterbunden und Probleme mit Aufsetzen durch das Durchbiegen der originalen Abdeckung gehören der Vergangenheit an!
